Kink Awareness Therapy Training - Session 2

This live training session builds upon the foundational concepts introduced in Kink Awareness Therapy Training (KATT) Session 1 by focusing on the practical application of kink-affirming clinical care. Participants will explore common presentations, relationship dynamics, communication patterns, and clinical considerations within kink-identified communities. Through case-based discussion and interactive learning, clinicians will strengthen their ability to provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and ethically sound treatment while reducing stigma and bias in clinical practice. Designed for both internal PBHC clinicians and external behavioral health professionals, this session emphasizes competency development in assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic alliance building, and ongoing clinical reflection when working with kink-identified individuals and relationships. Participants will: Increase understanding of diverse kink identities, practices, and relationship structures. Differentiate consensual kink behaviors from indicators of abuse, coercion, or pathology. Apply kink-affirming assessment and treatment approaches in clinical settings. Identify and address personal and systemic biases that may impact care. Strengthen skills for creating inclusive, affirming therapeutic environments. Integrate ethical, cultural, and trauma-informed considerations into treatment planning.
